Every model uses UV-stabilised Bayer Makrolon® polycarbonate, full brush seals, and a 4-way locking dial. Pet-Tek International was founded in Auckland, New Zealand in 1999 by Steven King — a glazing specialist frustrated by the constant failures of imported pet doors. Broken flaps, excessive noise, poor sizing, and endless warranty claims were the norm.
So he designed something better. The Catwalk® and Dogwalk® ranges were built from the ground up using aircraft-grade Bayer Makrolon® polycarbonate, precision engineering, and a clean round cut-out profile that makes installation faster and cleaner than any rectangular alternative.

How to choose the right pet door

Glass or timber door?
Glass fitting models install into glass panels via a round core-drilled hole — your glazier handles this. Glass fitting cat doors and glass fitting dog doors suit ranch sliders, double glazed windows and patio doors. Wood fitting models are DIY-friendly for timber, PVC and metal panels 11–52mm thick.
Cat or dog — what size?
Measure your pet’s shoulder height and widest width while standing, then add 25mm to each. When in doubt, go one size up. Use our interactive door finder for an instant model recommendation based on your pet’s weight and door type — takes less than a minute.
Standard or selective entry?
If neighbourhood cats are entering your home, the Catwalk® multi-magnetic range provides battery-free selective entry — only your cat’s collar magnet can open the door. No batteries, no programming, no electronics to fail. Available in glass fitting and wood fitting versions.
