G-IDDW Glass Fitting Intermediate Dog Door Dual Glaze White

The Dogwalk® G-IDDW is a glass fitting intermediate dog door in white, manufactured from 100% UV-stabilised high-impact polycarbonate — same material as aircraft windows. Its dual glaze frame accommodates glass from 4mm to 32mm thick, making it suitable for both single and double glazing. The white frame suits white-framed aluminium windows, white uPVC sliding doors and PVC joinery. The Intermediate size suits small to medium dogs up to about 380mm at the shoulder — such as Jack Russells, Cavaliers, Pugs, French Bulldogs and Corgis — through a usable opening of 216mm wide × 237mm high. What size dogs does the G-IDDW suit?

The G-IDDW is the Dogwalk® Intermediate dog door — for small to medium dogs up to about 380mm at the shoulder, such as Jack Russells, Cavaliers, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Corgis and Miniature Schnauzers. The usable opening is 216mm wide × 237mm high (the flap panel is 250mm; about 13mm sits in the hinge). Before ordering, measure your dog standing: width at the widest point + 25mm must fit inside 216mm, and body depth (top of shoulders to bottom of chest) + 25mm inside 237mm. What is the difference between G-IDDW and G-IDDSLW?

Both are white and share the same 320mm cut-out and 216mm × 237mm usable opening (flap panel 216mm × 250mm). The G-IDDW is the dual glaze version with a deeper frame accommodating glass up to 32mm, suited to double-glazed units. The G-IDDSLW is the slim line version suited to single glazing 4–13mm thick.

What is the difference between the Intermediate and Medium dog door?

The Intermediate dog door (G-IDDW) has a usable opening of 216mm × 237mm (flap panel 216mm × 250mm) and a 320mm cut-out, suited to small to medium dogs up to about 380mm at the shoulder. The Medium dog door (G-DDW) has a larger 270mm × 300mm usable opening (flap panel 270mm × 313mm) and a 385mm cut-out, specially developed for medium to semi-large dogs up to a shoulder height of 450–500mm. If your dog is between sizes, go up to the Medium door.

Can I install the G-IDDW into existing double glazing?

Not directly — toughened or sealed double-glazed units cannot be cut after manufacture. A new glass panel with the 320mm hole pre-cut must be ordered and fitted by your glazier. This is standard practice and glaziers do it regularly.

What glass thickness does the G-IDDW suit?

The G-IDDW suits glass from 4mm to 32mm thick, covering standard single glazing and most double-glazed units. For glass thicker than 32mm, please contact us to discuss options.

Is the G-IDDW available in clear or black?

Yes — the G-IDDC is the clear dual glaze version and the G-IDDB is the black version — both with identical specifications.

How much does the G-IDDW frame project on each side of the glass?

The G-IDDW dual glaze frame projects 16mm on both the inner and outer face of the glass, accommodating single and double glazing from 4–32mm thick.
