Yes — the Catwalk® glass fitting range is specifically designed for installation into glass doors and panels, including ranch sliders, double-glazed windows, and single glass panels. The cat door fits into a round hole cut by a glazier. It cannot be installed into existing toughened or double-glazed glass — the panel must be replaced with a new one that has the cut-out pre-made at the time of manufacture. For a glass sliding door or ranch slider, the slim line Catwalk® models are the best choice. The G-SDDSLC (clear) or G-SDDSLW (white) maxi slim line suits large cats and small dogs, and is designed to sit within the track depth of a sliding door without interfering with its operation. Yes — the dual glaze Catwalk® maxi models (G-SDDC, G-SDDW, G-SDDB) accommodate glass from 3mm up to 28mm, covering most modern double-glazed panels. The existing double-glazed panel must be replaced with a new unit that has the round cut-out pre-cut — your glazier can arrange this. View all glass fitting cat door models.
A glass fitting cat door installs into a glass panel — typically a ranch slider, double-glazed window, or glass door — and requires a round cut-out made by a glazier. A wood fitting cat door installs into a timber, PVC or hollow-core door and can typically be fitted as a DIY project using basic tools. Both ranges use the same Catwalk® polycarbonate flap and 4-way locking system.
The multi-magnetic cat door uses a battery-free magnetic locking system. The door stays locked by default. When your cat — wearing the C-M collar magnet — approaches the door, the magnet triggers the internal lock to release automatically. The door locks again when your cat moves away. No batteries, no microchip reader, no app required. It is the most effective way to stop other cats entering your home without restricting your own cat’s access.
Measure your cat at the shoulder — the flap opening height should be at least equal to this measurement. The original cat door (G-CDC, G-CDW) has a 193×165mm flap and suits most standard domestic cats. The maxi pet door range has a 203×187mm flap and suits larger cats and small dogs. Yes. Glass fitting cat doors require the existing glass panel to be replaced with a new one that has the round cut-out pre-cut at the time of manufacture. A glazier measures the opening, orders the replacement panel, removes the existing glass, and installs the new panel and cat door. Glass fitting Catwalk® models are available in clear, white and black across most size ranges. Clear suits aluminium joinery. White suits white-frame joinery. Black suits dark-frame ranch sliders and contemporary homes. Wood fitting models are available in white and brown. The multi-magnetic G-MCDW glass fitting model is white only.
