Yes. The W-MCDW stays locked by default. Only a cat wearing the C-M collar magnet can trigger the door to open. Other cats, animals or people without the magnet cannot open it from the outside.
No. The multi-magnetic system is entirely passive — the C-M collar magnet physically interacts with the door's internal magnets to release and reset the lock. No batteries, no power supply, no app and no microchip reader required.
