Not necessarily — the collar magnet is a separate component that attaches to your cat's collar and activates the door's magnetic locking system. If your cat door flap is worn but the door still unlocks correctly for your cat, you only need the G-MCDRF flap kit. If the door is no longer unlocking reliably, you may also need the C-M collar magnet pair.
